Imogen Duthie
I was born in 1977 in Cádiz (Spain) to British parents. As a child I did a lot of drawing and painting, mostly with oils and pastels, and took lessons from an early age. I went on to study Archaeology in London, and, among other things, enjoyed doing archaeological illustrations of finds from excavation projects. In recent years, I took a two-year illustration course, which reignited my interest in drawing and illustrating, and encouraged me to experiment with other media.
For the past 14 years have also been exploring printmaking (etchings, mezzotints, linocuts, and more recently, silkscreens).
When I am not illustrating or printmaking, I am translating.
In addition to Portrait of a Plaything, I am currently working on two other illustration projects — an early readers series and a book on Commedia dell’arte characters.
